About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team in delivering patient care using the nursing process
Provide professional nursing care, including nursing assessments, assistance with examinations and treatment, patient education, and medical-record maintenance
Deliver safe and appropriate care according to nursing skills inventory and patient age and needs
Coordinate nursing-care planning with an interdisciplinary team and administer appropriate clinical decisions
Collaborate with, direct, and delegate to the healthcare team to attain positive patient outcomes
Coordinate treatment plans and develop/implement discharge or transfer plans
Participate in interdisciplinary evaluation, process improvement, and client-centered outcomes
Address diverse patient needs throughout the continuum of care and optimize the patient experience
Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors while adhering to Memorial Hermann policies and standards
Promote professional growth through mandatory/continuing education and competency requirements
Support department goals and may serve as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing
Certified in Basic Life Support
Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or nursing unit requirements
RN I: less than 1 year of experience
RN II: 1–3 years of experience
RN III: 3–10 years of experience
RN IV: 10+ years of experience
Effective oral and written communication skills
Adherence to regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards
