About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain Trauma Registry data through data abstraction and ICD-10 and AIS coding
  • Analyze and review patient medical records
  • Abstract data from data sources and enter coded data into the Trauma Registry
  • Ensure accuracy and maintain quality control of the registry program
  • Assist with collecting registry data for performance improvement and registry projects
  • Complete timely data abstraction and meet Trauma Service Line deadlines
  • Attend assigned educational opportunities
  • Adhere to Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, standards, productivity, and quality requirements
  • Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors
  • Meet mandatory and continuing education and skills competency requirements
  • Support department-based goals and serve as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff
  • Create compassionate, personalized, safe, and efficient experiences for patients and colleagues
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must reside in Texas
  • Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology required
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • ICD-10 and Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) coding experience preferred
  • Relevant healthcare or coding work will also be considered
  • Trauma Registry experience preferred
