About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain Trauma Registry data through data abstraction and ICD-10 and AIS coding
Analyze and review patient medical records
Abstract data from data sources and enter coded data into the Trauma Registry
Ensure accuracy and maintain quality control of the registry program
Assist with collecting registry data for performance improvement and registry projects
Complete timely data abstraction and meet Trauma Service Line deadlines
Attend assigned educational opportunities
Adhere to Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, standards, productivity, and quality requirements
Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors
Meet mandatory and continuing education and skills competency requirements
Support department-based goals and serve as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff
Create compassionate, personalized, safe, and efficient experiences for patients and colleagues
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must reside in Texas
Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology required
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
ICD-10 and Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) coding experience preferred
Relevant healthcare or coding work will also be considered
Trauma Registry experience preferred
