About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, provide, and coordinate direct staff education and indirect patient education
- Conduct orientation training and develop curriculum and individual learning plans
- Monitor staff and maintain certifications and licenses for the medical flight team
- Function as an instructor at the Texas Medical Center campus
- Assess, plan, develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate educational needs for target populations
- Develop curriculum for identified learning needs
- Facilitate and coordinate individual learning plans
- Promote a team approach to healthcare delivery
- Facilitate and evaluate patient education
- Develop and maintain the new employee orientation program
- Act as a clinical resource for staff
- Communicate with all levels of the healthcare team
- Ensure safe care and adhere to Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards
- Support mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, department goals, and less experienced staff
- Create compassionate and personalized experiences for patients and the workforce
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Current State of Texas license/permit to practice professional nursing
- Completion of Basic Life Support
- Other certification based upon specific nursing unit requirements
- At least five (5) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
- Viewed as a “leader” in current specialty
