About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create an effective sales presence in the assigned area
- Learn the product line and applications across different environments
- Follow up on leads using a multi-prong contact approach
- Achieve sales targets and quotas using the Medtronic Sales process
- Open new accounts, maintain existing business, and grow overall business above $200k
- Report to the District Sales Manager with no direct reports
- Interface with marketing, engineering, clinical, and management teams to support product development and launches
- Complete Advanced Energy online and home-office training and achieve at least 90% on the comprehensive test
- Present the technology in operating room or office settings within 45 days
- Identify major new and existing accounts and implement key account plans
- Prioritize the territory, profile top accounts, and develop account plans
- Review territory sales plans and tactics and develop programs to increase market share
- Open one new account with a stocking order within 90 days
- Meet or exceed quarterly revenue target within 180 days
- Provide 90-day rolling forecasts every 30 days
- Submit bimonthly expense reports
- Maintain quarterly business objectives and updated account plans
- Share successful tactics, tough objections, and product issues with the team
- Arrange and conduct educational in-services and technical symposiums in top accounts
- Build relationships with clinical and administrative personnel in key accounts
- Identify opportunities to introduce executive management to major accounts
- Jointly develop team strategies involving marketing, clinical, education, and management
- Execute an innovative Internet-centered marketing strategy for demand generation and education
- Perform all activities in compliance with the Quality System and environmental, health, and safety requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 6+ years of relevant sales, clinical, or related experience in medical device, Medtech, healthcare or life sciences; or Associates Degree and 4+ years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of relevant experience
- Relevant experience in medical device, Medtech, healthcare or life sciences
- Valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy
- Unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment
- Ability to travel up to 75%
- Ability to function using healthcare universal precautions to minimize exposure to infectious disease and radiation
- Ability to serve as primary resource for scheduled and unscheduled clinical events, including periodic weekends, evenings, nights, and overnight travel
- Ability to work efficiently and autonomously with little direction outside clinical events
- Ability to attend national meetings, district meetings, and other training as requested
- Ability to wear a 7–9 lbs. protective lead apron for extended periods in the operating room
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for 8+ hours per day
- Ability to bend/stoop, squat, and balance frequently
- Close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- For baccalaureate degrees earned outside the United States, a degree satisfying 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required
