About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide day-to-day field clinical study support, technical and education support, and site management, coordination, and training for Mitral and Tricuspid Therapies clinical programs
- Promote clinical programs through education of current and new investigators, new technologies, and case support to achieve safe patient outcomes and company objectives
- Conduct on-site education and/or consulting
- Support field personnel in providing outcomes and service for Medtronic customers
- Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and execute enrollment plans
- Participate in conventions, forums, and meetings to increase product awareness
- Provide customer case and education support with Therapy Development Management
- Identify and facilitate growth opportunities with the Clinical Support Team
- Serve as a technical resource for a specific medical product or solution
- Assist in clinical study procedures and Intrepid TMVR/TTVR device preparation and case support
- Provide technical support, device and system troubleshooting, and guidance on device suitability and patient selection
- Provide imaging support involving echo, angiography, and CT
- Communicate clinical-site product feedback to engineering and support research and development
- Develop and maintain customer relationships and enrollment support with assigned sites
- Coordinate patient screening and enrollment communications and required screening materials
- Coordinate product shipping and returns between internal and external customers
- Assist with development and delivery of physician training materials, simulations, benchtop models, didactic sessions, and case studies
- Educate and train physicians, hospital personnel, and staff on Medtronic products
- Provide training and resources for procedure certification and activation
- Educate, mentor, and train internal Medtronic employees
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma/degree plus a minimum of 8 years of clinical support experience, or Associate degree plus 6 years, or Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years, or Advanced degree plus 2 years
- Clinical support experience such as field clinical specialist, clinical engineer, or relevant hospital experience
- Ability to travel approximately 75%, including international travel
- Experience with echocardiographic imaging of the mitral and/or tricuspid valve preferred
- Experience with CT segmentation and analysis software such as 3Mensio preferred
- Experience with trans-septal procedures including TMVR or LAAC or adjacent therapies preferred
- Clinical research experience, including coordinating multi-center trials, preferred
- Experience in structural heart field with established technical expertise and knowledge preferred
- Experience presenting, writing, and teaching clinical and medical information preferred
- Experience with group presentations and interventional/surgical cardiac procedures preferred
- Experience with Good Clinical Practice and/or regulatory compliance guidelines for clinical trials preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and MS Project or similar scheduling software
- Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
- Ability to work in Cath Labs or Operating Rooms with radiation exposure
- Ability to work outside typical Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. hours
- Ability to lift 20 pounds
- Ability to perform extended computer-based work
- Ability to use computers and CT reconstruction programming
- Ability to travel extensively by car and plane
- Ability to sit and stand for 8 hours per day
- Ability to wear a lead apron for 2–3 hours on average
- Comfort with clinical environments and potential exposure to infectious diseases, radiation, and blood-borne pathogens
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
- Valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance policy; driving record will be reviewed
- Ability to travel with overnight stays up to 75% of the time, including international travel
- For baccalaureate degrees earned outside the United States, a degree satisfying 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required
- Unrestricted U.S. work authorization at hire and throughout employment is required for roles below Principal level; this Principal-level role may qualify for sponsorship under Medtronic policy
