About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage achievement of unit and revenue goals for assigned therapy products in the assigned district
- Assist the district and region in achieving therapy product sales and marketing objectives
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve short- and long-term business objectives
- Conduct field visits, individual or group meetings, and telephone contacts
- Train and develop employees in sales skills, product knowledge, teamwork, time and territory management, competitive knowledge, and career goals
- Coordinate sales efforts
- Communicate corporate, divisional, regional, and district missions, goals, and activities
- Direct and motivate personnel to achieve unit and revenue goals
- Provide ongoing feedback and coaching and schedule performance reviews
- Implement corrective actions when necessary
- Assist employees with individual development plans
- Apply customer-focused quality concepts
- Manage district budgets, forecasts, inventory, and expenses
- Negotiate and resolve price and contract issues
- Coordinate with sales representatives and managers of other product lines
- Develop ethical, long-term customer relationships and represent Medtronic management to customers
- Recruit and interview candidates, hire top candidates, and support workplace diversity goals
- Provide marketing intelligence feedback to sales and marketing management
- Perform duties in compliance with the Quality System
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 5 years of relevant sales experience, or Advanced Degree and minimum 3 years of relevant sales and leadership experience
- Successful medical sales record preferred, preferably with RTG products
- Experience with sales and personnel management functions
- Knowledge of RTG assigned product/therapy customer base
- Additional experience in marketing, training, technical services, or related areas preferred
- Reside within the assigned territory
- Valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy
- Ability to travel extensively by car and plane
- Ability to lift 20 pounds
- Ability to hear, see, and speak fluently
- Ability to sit and stand for 8 hours per day
- Ability to wear a lead apron for long periods of time
- Ability to operate a moving vehicle
- Ability to work in operating rooms and/or hospital labs with radiation exposure
- Ability to conduct company business outside typical Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. schedule
- For baccalaureate degrees earned outside the United States, degree must satisfy 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A)
- Unrestricted U.S. work authorization required at hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is not offered for roles below Principal level
