About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support design, development, analysis, and testing of engineering solutions during research and product development phases.
- Contribute to system integration, verification, validation, risk analysis, and data-driven evaluation efforts.
- Support safety testing, regulatory compliance, and transfer of products from development into manufacturing.
- Design and support manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment, machining, and material handling.
- Provide technical and sustaining engineering support within manufacturing environments, including equipment and process improvements.
- Develop, apply, and maintain quality standards and protocols for materials, components, and finished products.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams to support quality requirements and compliance.
- Support reliability studies, data analysis, and evaluation of design or test methods to achieve product reliability targets.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Working toward a bachelor's or master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline with an anticipated graduation date of Winter 2027, Spring 2028, Winter 2028, or Spring 2029.
- Applicants for Medtronic’s Summer Internship Program must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
- Prior experience in engineering design, testing, manufacturing, quality, data analysis, or product development through internships, academic projects, research, laboratory work, or relevant work experience.
- Experience with engineering software, programming, CAD, data analysis, or laboratory equipment.
- Experience creating technical documentation, laboratory reports, project summaries, test reports, or engineering presentations.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Flexibility in geographic location.
- For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
