About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a subject matter expert supporting Medtronic's global import compliance program by determining Country of Origin
- Assign Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications and apply Rules of Origin
- Maintain the trade data required to support compliant importation of medical devices
- Partner with sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customs professionals
- Evaluate product changes and interpret international trade regulations
- Ensure Medtronic products meet customs requirements across global markets
- Prepare and maintain origin certifications and supporting documentation required for customs compliance
- Participate in internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation and explaining trade compliance determinations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree AND 1 year of experience in Global Trade Compliance, Import Compliance, Customs Brokerage, Customs Compliance, or International Trade Operations OR High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of directly related trade compliance experience
- Experience in one or more of the following: Country of Origin determination, HTS Classification, Customs Brokerage, Rules of Origin, Import Compliance, Customs Entry, Trade Compliance
- Strong analytical and investigative problem-solving skills
- Excellent written communication with the ability to clearly document trade compliance decisions
- For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
