About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as a subject matter expert supporting Medtronic's global import compliance program by determining Country of Origin
Assign Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications and apply Rules of Origin
Maintain the trade data required to support compliant importation of medical devices
Partner with sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customs professionals
Evaluate product changes and interpret international trade regulations
Ensure Medtronic products meet customs requirements across global markets
Prepare and maintain origin certifications and supporting documentation required for customs compliance
Participate in internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation and explaining trade compliance determinations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree AND 1 year of experience in Global Trade Compliance, Import Compliance, Customs Brokerage, Customs Compliance, or International Trade Operations OR High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of directly related trade compliance experience
Experience in one or more of the following: Country of Origin determination, HTS Classification, Customs Brokerage, Rules of Origin, Import Compliance, Customs Entry, Trade Compliance
Strong analytical and investigative problem-solving skills
Excellent written communication with the ability to clearly document trade compliance decisions
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
