About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the technical lead for Medtronic’s enterprise Building Automation System (BAS)
  • Ensure facilities operate efficiently, reliably, and sustainably
  • Provide expert oversight across the full BAS lifecycle, including engineering, design, installation, service, upgrades, and system optimization
  • Lead major BAS initiatives by managing project milestones and delivering technical solutions that enhance HVAC and electrical system performance
  • Maintain and improve existing BAS infrastructure while advancing continuous improvements in system components, processes, and procedures
  • Collaborate with facility teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot complex building system issues and improve operational efficiency
  • Drive adherence to and modifications of Medtronic BAS Standards and SOP’s
  • Independently set objectives for completing assigned tasks/projects
  • Perform inspection and testing of pneumatic, electric, electronic, and digital control equipment
  • Provide training and support to Maintenance/Facility Staff on BAS operations
  • Participate in long-term BAS strategy and contingency planning

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of experience with operation and maintenance of BAS, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems OR advanced degree
  • Experience with BAS design, installation, commissioning, and training
  • Excellent mechanical system knowledge (HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems)
  • Tridium/Niagara BAS Certification
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Experience with BAS hardware/systems (Tridium Niagara, Honeywell, and/or Distech)
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • EPA refrigeration “universal certification”
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, shop drawings, and schematics
  • Self-motivated
  • Experience with integrated building solutions including temperature control, critical environment monitoring, power management and alarming, zoned lighting control and facility access control
  • Experience with automation protocols including Modbus, BACnet, and LonWorks
