About the role

  • Lead Manufacturing Automation within our Operations Innovation group.
  • Develop a technology strategy and roadmap for automation solutions across Medtronic Manufacturing.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement automation solutions.
  • Design and implement differentiating automation solutions and system software for scalable operations.
  • Oversee the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies.
  • Guide the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes or products.
  • Organize the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants for timely delivery.
  • Select, develop and evaluate personnel for efficient operation.
  • Conduct studies to determine efficient workflow by analyzing manufacturing processes and costs.
  • Facilitate complex problem-solving within the team and share learning across teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of Manufacturing Automation/Leadership experience with 7+ years of managerial experience OR advanced degree and 8+ years of Manufacturing Automation/Leadership experience and 7+ years of managerial experience
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • Experience across numerous roles/functions within Manufacturing and Supply Chain with demonstrated success in each area
  • Experience in leading large-scale change management
  • Demonstrated business acumen with an understanding of the P&L and balance sheet
  • Inclusive leader who builds trust and demonstrates genuine care for people, respecting their unique differences
  • DMAIC Lean / Six Sigma Certification
  • Demonstrated use of Lean Manufacturing principles to achieve results
  • Ability to lead teams as well as be a team member, develop talent, and hold people accountable to specific time-bound objectives
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of employees.
  • Flexible role – minimum of 2 days a week on site.
