About the role
- Champion global sourcing strategies and initiatives to optimize supplier performance, drive productivity, and ensure material availability across all regional manufacturing sites.
- Proactively manage supply risk, lead Last Time Buy and Strategic Inventory Purchase activities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to guarantee continuity of supply.
- Foster a culture of Lean and continuous improvement, driving advancements in quality, cost, and performance throughout the supply base.
- Partner with Sourcing Enablement, Category Management, Supplier Quality, and Manufacturing teams to implement best practices and deliver measurable results.
- Own supply base performance metrics, participate in strategic supplier reviews, and develop supplier improvement plans that support business objectives.
- Contribute to strategic and operating plans, budgets, and policies to align sourcing programs with Medtronic’s growth and innovation goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field in a large, multi-divisional corporation.
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant Purchasing, Sourcing, or Supply Chain experience with a minimum of 10 years of managerial experience within manufacturing operations or an advanced degree with 13 years of relevant Purchasing, Sourcing, or Supply Chain experience with a minimum of 10 years of managerial experience within manufacturing operations.
- Proven success in strategic sourcing, change management, and building high-performing global teams.
- Experience in a highly regulated industry, preferably medical, with global manufacturing Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma, and relevant certifications (C.P.M., C.P.I.M., C.I.R.M., C.Q.E.) are highly valued.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, change management, and analytical skills.
- Technical knowledge of fabricated components, fibers, films, electronics, and plastics.
- Ability to lead change in a complex environment.
- Strong facilitation, influencing, organizing, and presentation/communication skills.
- Proven ability to achieve results through building partnerships and influence skills.
