About the role

  • Lead team of OpEx engineers - coach, motivate and foster professional development of direct reports.
  • Deploy MPS program (Medtronic Performance System) at the campus level which includes safety excellence, value stream excellence, zero loss culture, continuous skill development, quality excellence, improvement excellence, and maintenance excellence.
  • Coach, educate, and build organizational capabilities as defined within the Medtronic Performance System global operational excellence program.
  • Partner with site cross-functional teams to develop and execute Lean Transformation initiatives.
  • Define, design, and implement continuous improvement programs to ensure programs are integrated vertically and horizontally across the organization.
  • Establish and maintain a site-wide culture of continuous improvement and install process excellence supports for program governance, project reviews, communications, training, certifications, and rewards.
  • Establish a culture of programmatic savings to deliver YOY COGs reduction.
  • Facilitate and coach teams through DMAIC methodology to build strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Attract develop and retain a high-performance technical staff as defined by site size.
  • Organize the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery.
  • Select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in in Engineering, Science or technical field is required
  • 5+ years of relevant experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 3+ years prior relevant experience
  • Green Belt, Black Belt, or PMP certification (Nice to Haves)
  • Experience in the Medical Device of Pharmaceutical field (Nice to Haves)
  • Engineering Degree (Nice to Haves)
  • Master of Business and Administration (Nice to Haves)
  • Demonstrated experience managing large, complex transformation initiatives with high level of visibility and business criticality (Nice to Haves)
  • Ability to lead, energize and influence change efforts at all levels of a complex organization (Nice to Haves)
  • Hands-on experience managing cross-functional projects working across businesses, sites, or regions (Nice to Haves)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in an FDA-regulated environment (Nice to Haves)
  • Experience and accountability driving change resulting in improvement of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost KPIs (Nice to Haves)
