About the role
- Introduce, implement and follow-up on clinical studies for Cardiac Rhythm Management
- Serve as technical resource between engineering, clinical research, and the medical community
- Provide technical assistance to clinical study sites and be present during initial implants
- Identify investigators, present protocols, assist investigators in product application, and submit status reports
- Assist R&D in evaluating concepts for new products and modifying existing devices or therapies
- Support study activation duties, training, enrollment encouragement, quality data acquisition and study closure
- Gain and maintain knowledge of clinical sites and develop relationships to drive clinical activity
- Provide feedback from clinical sites to incorporate into engineering designs or enhancements
- Educate customers, sales partners and internal Clinical Research talent on the technology
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience in clinical research or as a clinical specialist/field clinical engineer/clinical sales rep OR advanced degree and 0 years of experience in clinical research or as a clinical specialist/field clinical engineer/clinical sales rep
- Experience at Medtronic or within the medical device industry (preferred)
- Experience in the management of clinical devices (preferred)
- Cardiovascular/Cardiac rhythm management device training (e.g., pacemakers & defibrillators) strongly preferred
- Experience in a Cath lab, biomedical engineering, hospital/clinic or medical sales (preferred)
- Experience in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and/or regulatory compliance guidelines for clinical trials (preferred)
- Experience in clinical studies and/or trial site management/protocols (preferred)
- Experience collaborating with cross functional clinical partners/customers, physicians and/or medical sales colleagues in the healthcare industry (preferred)
