About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary Employee Relations contact for Manufacturing & Commercial employees based in Canada and support client groups in the United States
- Advise and coach leaders, managers, and employees on employee relations matters
- Manage employee complaints and concerns, determine next steps, and ensure resolution under company policy and applicable legislation
- Counsel employees and management on performance management, discipline, restructuring, legal issues, investigations, conflict management, crisis management, labour relations, and related matters
- Ensure fair and consistent application of Medtronic policies and procedures
- Develop and lead proactive employee and labour relations strategies using data to address opportunities and minimize risk
- Lead restructuring initiatives resulting in employee transitions
- Partner with HR COEs on escalated talent acquisition, leave management, organizational design, restructuring, and other HR matters
- Document cases in ServiceNow and escalate matters to the ER/HR Director as required
- Translate data and insights into actionable recommendations and strategies
- Lead or support ER/HR projects and change initiatives across Operations, Commercial, and Americas Employee Relations teams
- Report complaints and Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR)
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 7 years of relevant HR experience OR advanced degree and minimum of 5 years of relevant HR experience
- Bilingual French and English — REQUIRED
- Demonstrated knowledge of Provincial Labour Legislation
- Proven experience managing labour-related matters before Provincial Labour Boards
- Experience developing and deploying strategies and recommendations to Senior Leadership
- Experience partnering, influencing and/or coaching Senior Leadership
- Project management and process mapping capabilities
- Effective presentation skills
- Effective communication skills with demonstrated ability to coach and influence
