About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and coach Enabling Technologies Clinical Consultant employees through field visits, meetings, and direct conversations
  • Manage clinical support performance for Robotic Assisted Surgery platforms and Neurosurgery portfolios
  • Ensure efficient scheduling of district case coverage and service work
  • Coordinate sales and clinical efforts across the district
  • Schedule clinical-event resources with the Enabling Technologies District Manager
  • Set objectives and evaluate, document, and improve direct-report performance
  • Communicate and reinforce Medtronic’s Mission, strategy, initiatives, goals, and activities
  • Implement strategies to achieve short- and long-term clinical business objectives
  • Direct and motivate employees to achieve clinical goals
  • Provide feedback, coaching, development discussions, and corrective actions
  • Document field visits and reinforce policies and business conduct standards
  • Oversee Clinical Consultant training and development in product and competitive knowledge
  • Coach employees on teamwork, time and task management, and career development
  • Assist with Individual Development Plans
  • Identify and address clinical opportunities using analytics, field visits, coaching, and measurable projects
  • Direct management of assets, expenses, and budgets
  • Perform cost center, expense, email, and other administrative tasks
  • Ensure quality-system understanding and compliance
  • Recruit and hire candidates with the District Manager and HR
  • Maintain a diverse candidate bench for future hiring
  • Provide clinical case, customer, and patient support while collaborating across districts and regions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of relevant experience; or an Advanced Degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • 1+ years of directly related Medtronic experience preferred
  • Previous Clinical Specialist level or higher experience preferred
  • Previous people management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of clinical coverage requirements preferred
  • Additional medical device industry experience in sales, marketing, training, healthcare, technical services, engineering, or related areas preferred
  • Successful career record showing promotions, time in role, and increasing responsibilities preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and processes preferred
  • Demonstrated change leadership preferred
  • Demonstrated business acumen preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance policy required
  • Driving record will be reviewed
  • Ability to drive approximately 50% of the time within the assigned territory and undertake possible overnight travel
  • Ability to travel by air, car, or other transportation
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Specific close and distance vision abilities
  • For foreign-earned baccalaureate degrees, a degree satisfying 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required
  • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization required at hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is not offered for roles below Principal level
