About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and coach Enabling Technologies Clinical Consultant employees through field visits, meetings, and direct conversations
  • Manage clinical support performance for Robotic Assisted Surgery platforms and Neurosurgery portfolios
  • Ensure efficient scheduling of case coverage and service work
  • Coordinate sales and clinical efforts across the district
  • Schedule resources for clinical events with the Enabling Technologies District Manager
  • Set objectives, evaluate performance, provide feedback and coaching, and document performance
  • Implement performance improvement plans and corrective actions when needed
  • Communicate and reinforce Medtronic’s Mission, strategy, initiatives, goals, and activities
  • Implement strategies to achieve short- and long-term business objectives related to clinical activities
  • Direct and motivate employees to achieve clinical goals
  • Document field visits and recommendations for improvement
  • Oversee Clinical Consultant training and development in product and competitive knowledge
  • Coach employees on teamwork, time and task management, and career development
  • Assist with Individual Development Plans
  • Identify and address clinical opportunities using analytics, field visits, coaching, and measurable projects
  • Provide direction on asset, expense, and budget management
  • Perform cost center, expense, email, and other administrative tasks
  • Follow quality procedures and ensure quality system compliance
  • Partner with the District Manager and HR to recruit and hire candidates
  • Maintain a diverse candidate bench for future hiring opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of relevant experience; or an Advanced Degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Must reside within the Southern California territory
  • Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy
  • Driving record will be reviewed
  • Ability to drive approximately 50% of the time within the assigned territory
  • Ability to travel by air, car, or other transportation; may require overnight travel
  • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment
  • For baccalaureate degrees earned outside the United States, degree must satisfy 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A)
  • Ability to manage clinical support for Robotic Assisted Surgery platforms and Neurosurgery portfolios
  • Knowledge of clinical coverage requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and processes
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Required close and distance vision
  • Ability to sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, and use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls
