About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate with hospital staff to launch medical device reprocessing programs and manage Go Live Days
- Conduct site assessments, create action-item timelines, and provide staff education before launch
- Create collection routes and schedules and optimize Collection Technician assignments using distance, drive-time, labor-hour, and workload analysis
- Determine the time required for Collection Technicians to perform device collection duties
- Communicate labor needs to leadership and Human Resources for talent acquisition
- Educate hospital staff on the reprocessing program and prepare field teams to engage and educate staff
- Troubleshoot collection-system problems and implement solutions to restore process continuity
- Collaborate with sales teams to increase device collections, identify opportunities, develop closing strategies, and focus sales and education efforts on high-revenue devices
- Compile and monitor weekly status reports from Collection Technicians
- Identify process breakdowns and improvement opportunities
- Conduct periodic post-launch business reviews to maintain hospital commitment
- Lead Collection Technicians through hospital credentialing compliance and coordinate access badges with hospital Security
- Oversee day-to-day operations of employee groups
- Interpret and execute departmental and project policies and recommend or implement policy changes
- Hire staff, recommend pay increases, conduct performance reviews, train and develop staff, estimate personnel needs, assign work, and ensure policy consistency
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience in a medical or sales environment
- At least 1 year of experience in a hospital or operating room setting
- Current valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and clean driving record
- Ability to travel in own vehicle to designated facilities when within driving distance
- Credentialing/hospital certification required to access assigned facilities
- Experience communicating technical information to non-technical audiences
- Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers and meeting service quality standards
- Experience evaluating customer satisfaction
- Experience accomplishing tasks in an optimum order based on time, importance, or other criteria
- Ability to travel up to 80% of the time for business purposes, within state and out of state
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a medical field
- Preferred: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification from an accredited certifying body
- Preferred: At least 3 years of experience with medical devices and/or device reprocessing
- Preferred: Experience directly managing at least 2 employees, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people
- Position requires credentialing/hospital certification to access assigned facilities
