About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Cover vet holidays, regular days off and vacancies across eight clinics within an approximately 25-mile radius
  • Provide clinical care in consults and routine surgery, often in sole-charge settings
  • Take clinical ownership of patient care within practices
  • Develop tailored treatment plans with clients
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, clinical governance and operational excellence
  • Collaborate with teams across multiple practices
  • Share skills and support Medivet communities’ development
  • Refer complex cases to the nearby Wokingham 24-hour hospital when appropriate
  • Work four days per week, including every sixth weekend at the Wokingham 24Hr Hospital
  • Work shifts from 9am to 7pm
  • Participate in bank holiday and on-call rotas

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4–5 years’ UK veterinary experience
  • Qualified MRCVS
  • Confidence in consults and performing routine surgery independently
  • Adaptability across different practice environments
  • Passion for delivering high standards of small animal care
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and in sole charge
  • Ability to participate in bank holiday and on-call rotas
  • Clinical excellence and client care focus
