About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Cover vet holidays, regular days off and vacancies across eight clinics within an approximately 25-mile radius
- Provide clinical care in consults and routine surgery, often in sole-charge settings
- Take clinical ownership of patient care within practices
- Develop tailored treatment plans with clients
- Ensure regulatory compliance, clinical governance and operational excellence
- Collaborate with teams across multiple practices
- Share skills and support Medivet communities’ development
- Refer complex cases to the nearby Wokingham 24-hour hospital when appropriate
- Work four days per week, including every sixth weekend at the Wokingham 24Hr Hospital
- Work shifts from 9am to 7pm
- Participate in bank holiday and on-call rotas
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4–5 years’ UK veterinary experience
- Qualified MRCVS
- Confidence in consults and performing routine surgery independently
- Adaptability across different practice environments
- Passion for delivering high standards of small animal care
- Ability to work both as part of a team and in sole charge
- Ability to participate in bank holiday and on-call rotas
- Clinical excellence and client care focus
