About the role
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities among pharma/biotech companies needing real-world evidence, medical writing, publication planning, medical affairs support, or full-service med-comms
- Client engagement & relationship building: cultivate relationships with key decision-makers understand their needs, and position the agency’s services accordingly
- Proposal development & pitching: lead development of tailored proposals, RFP responses and pitch presentations for real-world insights
- Strategic planning: contribute to the agency’s business-development strategy by tracking market trends, analyzing the competitive landscape, and identifying whitespace opportunities — especially in real-world evidence/ real-world insights space
- Cross-functional collaboration: work with scientific strategy, medical-writing, creative, publications, and account teams to ensure proposals and delivery align with client needs and agency capabilities
Requirements
- Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MPH, MS, PharmD) strongly preferred
- Extensive experience in business development roles within medical communications, healthcare communications, pharmaceutical communications agency
- Experience in client-facing and opinion leader-facing roles, pharma sponsored HCP engagements is essential, previous experience with CME and/or third-party medical insight gathering preferred
- Demonstrable track record of generating new business, leading pitches / RFPs, building long-term client relationships and meeting or exceeding revenue targets
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills, able to engage senior client stakeholders
- Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen able to understand market trends, client needs, competitive environment, and translate them into opportunity
- Scientific literacy or familiarity with life-sciences / healthcare (therapeutic areas, clinical development, medical affairs)
