About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts including SaaS agreements, master service agreements, partnership contracts, vendor agreements, and other commercial contracts.
- Help maintain and improve contract templates, including improving commercial contracting playbooks and workflows.
- Draft and review privacy-related documents such as data processing agreements, privacy policies, terms of use and risk assessments.
- Assist in integrating AI tools into legal workflows (e.g., contract review automation).
- Assist in managing the contract lifecycle process including by optimizing the use of contract management tools.
- Manage ad hoc legal projects and support broader legal team initiatives.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing.
- Practical experience negotiating commercial contracts gained in a law firm, in-house, or a combination of both for 2+ years.
- Ability to independently manage and negotiate commercial contracts including those with customers and vendors.
- Familiarity with data privacy, intellectual property, and regulatory issues including those relevant to GDPR and CCPA.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
- Attention to detail with a strong understanding of legal and business risks in contracts.
- Strong problem-solving orientation with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
