About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Improve the Medbridge Platform that product engineering teams use to build, test, deploy, and operate software
Work on CI/CD pipelines, build systems, deployment workflows, and release automation
Improve database reliability, performance, upgrade readiness, and operational practices
Help strengthen our testing platform
Reduce developer friction by improving local development, tooling, documentation, and shared engineering workflows
Work with the Medbridge PHP monolith as part of the broader platform
Mentor engineers and help raise the technical bar across the organization

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong software engineering experience building and maintaining production systems
Experience improving CI/CD pipelines, build systems, testing infrastructure, observability, and overall developer experience
Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL or similar)
Proven ability to safely improve and modernize existing systems without unnecessary rewrites
Strong debugging, problem-solving, and technical planning skills
Strong communication, collaboration, and ownership mindset
Preferred: Experience with PHP, modernizing mature PHP applications, CI/CD tools, cloud-hosted systems (especially AWS)
