Payroll

• Complete full cycle semi-monthly and monthly payroll for salaried HQ and regional employees
• Administer monthly payroll for global regional staff through global payroll providers and employer of records (EORs) including exchange rate differentials
• Ensure payroll and remittance practices are compliant with local labor legislation and all submissions are made accurately and within required timeframes
• Assist with year-end payroll reporting including tax documents and annual benefit reporting in North America (US ACA reporting and CDN dental reporting) and required annual remittances/declarations for regional staff
• Manage payroll and benefit enrollment, termination, revision and systems
• Prepare payroll reports, GL’s and benefit worksheets for finance reconciliations
• Support annual benefit renewal, open enrollments and mandatory notices
• Support audit processes with supporting documentation related to payroll and benefits
• Answer employee questions related to payroll and benefit administration
• Assist in job evaluation exercises, maintain job description library, and gather market data
• Support Director, Total Rewards on annual salary increase process including collection of CPI data and preparation of salary increase worksheets and letters
• Assist in drafting, maintaining and updating job descriptions
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date and complete employee compensation and benefit related records and files in Bamboo HR and SharePoint
• Ensure proper documentation of all payroll and benefit related items to support audit compliance
• Administer time-off tracking and leaves in BambooHR to enable reporting
• Monitor and administer documentation related to job evaluation requests and internal acting-as/interim roles and promotions
• Draft employee letters, amendments and end of employment documentation as required
• Administer and support Total Rewards policies and improvements
• Support corporate culture and employee experience including assisting in onboarding and offboarding
• Assist with annual performance management process
• Assist in preparing employee communication relating to Total Rewards initiatives
• Assist the Director, Total Rewards with special projects

• Provide strategic and day to day HR advisory and technical support to the West & Central Africa (WCA) and East & Southern Africa (ESA) Regions
• Implement HR strategies, processes and policies
• Serve as a technical supervisor, close collaborator and thought partner for the Country People & Culture Managers
• Manage relationships with Regional Directors and Country Manager(s)
• Provide advice and guidance to regional leadership in meeting their business goals from a P&C perspective
• Own and manage end-to-end employee life cycle including onboarding and offboarding processes
• Collaborate with P&C team members to foster positive employee relations and maintain a conducive work environment
• Support ongoing global employee engagement initiatives within the Region
• Provide leadership, guidance and direction to Country P&C Lead(s) around HR programs, policies, and practices
• Ensure compliance with P&C policies, procedures, and legal regulations across region(s)

Regional People & Culture Lead – West & Central Africa, East & Southern Africa

Account Manager

• Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of government relations strategies that align with MEDA’s strategic priorities.
• Monitor public policy, legislative developments, and government funding opportunities that impact MEDA’s programs and strategic goals.
• Represent and contribute to positioning MEDA across G7, G20 relevant working groups.
• Serve as MEDA’s relationship manager for priority bilateral and multilateral government partners, in coordination with country and global program leadership.
• Identification and mapping of for-profit corporations who align with MEDA’s strategic priorities.
• Lead private sector engagement strategies to secure partnerships that drive new business development and resource mobilization.
• Develop tailored engagement plans that integrate corporate social impact goals with MEDA’s mission and strategic goals.
• Identify new market trends, sector opportunities, and collaboration models with businesses, foundations, investors, and institutional donors.
• Contribute to the preparation of concept notes, proposals, and partnership briefs tailored to government and private sector audiences.
• Support and contribute to contract negotiations in collaboration with Legal, Finance, and Program teams.
