About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the primary Azure subject matter expert, driving cloud architecture standards, automation, security, and governance
Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-grade Azure infrastructure covering compute, networking, storage, identity, and PaaS services
Develop and maintain Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code
Build and manage Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines
Implement Azure governance frameworks including Azure Policy, RBAC, management groups, and tagging strategies
Enforce cloud security best practices and zero-trust principles
Manage cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices
Monitor infrastructure, troubleshoot performance issues, and resolve connectivity problems
Lead workload assessment, migration planning, and modernization of on-premises applications to Azure
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and foster continuous improvement
Maintain architecture diagrams, runbooks, and operational playbooks
Evaluate emerging Azure technologies and recommend services, tools, and approaches
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, HITRUST, and applicable standards
Protect and disclose patients’ PHI only according to HIPAA standards
Comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and limit PHI access to the minimum necessary

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
7+ years of IT experience, including 4+ years in a hands-on Azure cloud engineering role
Deep expertise in Azure Compute, AKS, App Services, networking, storage, and Entra ID
Strong proficiency with Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code
Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation
Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, and/or Python
Experience with Azure governance, Azure Policy, RBAC, and security baseline implementation
In-depth knowledge of Azure Virtual Networks, NSGs, DNS, VPN, ExpressRoute, and subnet management
Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Sentinel
Microsoft Azure certification required
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, creative-thinking, judgment, integrity, dependability, and results-oriented skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work outside normal business hours and/or on-call as needed
Occasional travel to other company locations required
Must possess a smartphone or electronic device capable of downloading applications for multifactor authentication and security purposes
Ability to follow directions, collaborate, handle stress, and perform the stated physical demands
