About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute territory growth strategies across California, Hawaii, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with distributors, manufacturers' representatives, contractors, engineers, municipalities, utilities, and end users
  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable manufacturer representatives and distribution partners
  • Manage project and distributor conversion pipelines using CRM, forecasting, and opportunity management practices
  • Identify new market opportunities, underserved geographies, target accounts, and industry trends
  • Provide customer and market insights on competitive activity, customer needs, and industry trends
  • Partner with operations, engineering, estimating, marketing, finance, customer service, and supply chain teams
  • Develop and deliver product, application, and sales training programs
  • Address customer challenges and coordinate resolution of quality, production, scheduling, delivery, billing, and service issues
  • Represent McWane Plant & Industrial at customer meetings, project sites, industry events, trade associations, and channel partner engagements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of successful sales experience in industrial, mechanical, waterworks, or related infrastructure markets
  • Proven ability to grow a territory through new customer acquisition, channel development, project influence, and market share expansion
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing strategic territory plans and managing complex sales opportunities
  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence customers, channel partners, and cross-functional teams
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with accountability, initiative, and adaptability
  • Experience utilizing CRM systems, opportunity management, forecasting, and pipeline development tools
  • Ability to travel up to 60%
  • Preferred: 5+ years of sales experience in relevant markets
  • Preferred: Experience with manufacturer representatives, distributors, contractors, engineers, municipalities, utilities, and industrial facilities in the Western U.S.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a technical or construction-related discipline
  • Preferred: Experience building territories, launching products, entering markets, or growing a new business, division, or product line
  • Preferred: Proficiency in CRM management, forecasting, pipeline development, annual sales planning, channel partner management, and project-based selling
