About the role

  • Provide oversight and management of high-volume statewide foreclosure matters.
  • Ensure all appropriate actions are taken to expedite the firm’s files.
  • Act as a liaison between the firm and clients, vendors, outside counsel, courts, trustees, and other foreclosure personnel.
  • Manage files by applicable foreclosure rules and firm-established timelines.
  • Work within the firm’s case management system to create, manage, and review daily and weekly reports.
  • Review and execute various pleadings and correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate updates in client and firm management systems.
  • Outline, prepare, and present pleadings and other legal documents.
  • Argue the merits of assigned cases at hearings, conferences, mediations, or trials.
  • Attend and/or conduct public auctions as needed.
  • Review title searches to identify any title issues and to determine the proper parties to serve.
  • Provide exceptional customer service; leadership and management of matters where applicable.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Maintain an active membership in good standing with the State Bar of the states where you practice on behalf of the firm.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law with a focus on finance, real estate, or representation of financial institutions in real estate related matters (courtroom experience preferred).
  • Experience representing creditors in foreclosures, evictions and/or title proceedings, or strong desire to learn these practice areas.
  • Experience in real estate, mortgage and/or commercial litigation strongly preferred.
  • Creditor-side bankruptcy experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of FDCPA, RESPA, TILA, and applicable state and federal debt collection and real property law a plus.
  • Litigation experience preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills (oral and written).
  • Proficiency in legal research, writing, and document drafting.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage numerous tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality.
  • Must pass a background check and provide two professional references.
