About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define and evolve architecture for enterprise EDI/B2B platforms
Translate business objectives into secure, resilient, high-performing integration designs
Provide technical leadership for platform operations and ensure KPIs for availability, throughput, transaction integrity, and partner experience
Lead resolution of systemic issues and major disruptions
Drive modernization initiatives that reduce technical debt and improve scalability, resilience, and execution speed
Enable API-led and event-driven integration patterns
Serve as a hands-on SME for complex EDI/B2B integration scenarios
Guide engineering teams on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance optimization
Establish architectural standards, design patterns, and best practices
Lead architecture and design reviews
Drive automation and AI-led improvements for operational efficiency, observability, and decision-making
Partner with business, product, and external stakeholders on architecture, customer experience, growth, transformation, and vendor selection

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree or equivalent and typically 10+ years of relevant experience
10+ years of software engineering and architecture experience focused on enterprise integration and EDI/B2B ecosystems
Expertise designing and operating large-scale distributed systems for high-volume, mission-critical transaction processing
Hands-on experience across the EDI lifecycle, including partner onboarding, data transformation, connectivity protocols, and transaction orchestration
Ability to balance platform operations accountability with architecture and modernization initiatives
Understanding of reliability, observability, performance optimization, and incident management
Experience using automation and emerging AI capabilities to improve platform efficiency, scalability, and decision-making
Ability to influence architecture and guide technical direction across cross-functional teams without direct authority
Strong communication skills for translating technical concepts into business and executive messaging
Experience with cloud adoption, API-led, and event-driven integration patterns is nice to have
Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or supply chain environments is a plus
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. now or in the future without McKesson sponsorship
