About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Promote and maintain McKesson products, programs, and services by telephone to current customers through relationship building
  • Promote and sell weekly specials, promotions, and new generics
  • Meet established monthly goals by maintaining current accounts
  • Detail, negotiate, and sell products and programs to assigned stores
  • Detail, prebook, and sell products and programs as assigned by management
  • Gather, validate, and provide competitive market and price information to management
  • Partner with Outside Sales Managers to increase sales volume and program compliance through account penetration
  • Support rebate reports, waivers, price comparisons, and securing new business
  • Communicate weekly with the Outside Sales Manager regarding territory
  • Analyze market factors to anticipate or identify customer problems and needs, and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Create unique customer contacts by presenting information related to customer purchase history
  • Use multiple systems and applications to perform and document customer interactions
  • Keep current on industry and product changes using McKesson learning, sales, analytics, and communications resources

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically, minimum 0–2 years of relevant experience
  • May have degree or equivalent
  • 2+ years of sales, account management, or customer service experience
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and driven to meet or exceed objectives
  • Ability to identify individual customer needs and provide tailored solutions
  • Team player and adaptable to a changing environment
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus
  • Call center experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated history of leadership within a team environment
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical industry products, trends, and processes
  • Ability to communicate product, price, promotion, and procedure information to customers and field sales managers
  • Ability to participate on cross-functional process improvement teams
  • Ability to understand and interpret data to determine customer needs
  • Self-starter requiring little direction
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment
  • Ability to analyze communications and manage timelines

  • 30% travel within territory
