About the role
- Lead the research, development, design, and optimization of McKesson’s core commercial software platforms—Sanitas and Base
- Oversee technology and systems functions that support critical business processes and enterprise information systems
- Evaluate, select, and enhance systems and applications; manage network infrastructure and ensure robust database performance
- Guide efforts to safeguard McKesson’s data, tools, and technology assets and ensure infrastructure standards promote efficiency and compatibility
- Align system capabilities with user needs and ensure seamless IT service delivery
- Define and deliver the software product roadmap across multiple functions and teams
- Build and manage a high-performing organization focused on innovation, talent development, and operational excellence
- Partner with internal stakeholders and customers to ensure technology solutions meet business needs and enhance user experience
- Manage significant budgets and vendor relationships to support scalable growth
- Oversee rollout of new technologies ensuring alignment with financial, operational, and security requirements
- Stay ahead of industry trends and competitor technologies to drive innovation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 13+ years of professional experience in software engineering or IT
- 6+ years in senior leadership roles with proven success in managing large-scale projects and teams
- Deep understanding of software development, systems architecture, and enterprise platforms
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strategic planning and analytical thinking
- Experience with operational policy development and performance metrics
- Familiarity with data security and compliance standards
- Experience managing significant budgets and vendor relationships
