About the role
- Lead and manage projects across all suites, such as the product lifecycle, strategic initiatives, and commercial domains from concept to execution.
- Develop, review, and validate comprehensive project plans including scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and operational integration.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders across departments and verticals, ensuring alignment and active engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and retrospectives using clear agendas focused on project priorities; guide and coach team members through all stages of execution.
- Drive MVP and pilot initiatives, opportunity evaluations, and product hand-offs, including knowledge transfer and transition planning.
- Monitor and manage project budgets, risks, dependencies, and performance standards; develop contingency plans and adjust milestones as needed.
- Apply project management best practices and methodologies, using sound judgment within defined policies and practices.
- Assess issues, identify risks, and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client satisfaction goals.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation including charters, plans, budgets, costs, milestones, status updates, action logs, and meeting notes.
- Communicate project value, progress, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders through established reporting channels.
- Champion process improvement and change management initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Promote a collaborative environment that reflects McKesson’s I²CARE and ILEAD behaviors while maintaining accountability and business focus.
- Mentor junior project managers and coordinators, fostering professional growth and team development.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple projects and competing priorities effectively.
Requirements
- Six Sigma certification or Agile Training
- 4+ years of demonstrated experience in project management role in large, complex organization
- Expertise in successfully delivering business-critical projects involving cross-functional participants, stakeholders, and organizations
- Experience managing and executing on projects from concept to Go-Live utilizing a variety of project management methodologies
- CAPM or PMP preferred, not required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to create alignment with a diverse set of managers
- Prior industry experience with healthcare, drug distribution or other related industries a plus
- Strategic thinking
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex facts and insights into concrete actionable recommendations
- Ability to track and prioritize multiple concurrent deliverables in a cross-functional team environment
- Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities, with an ability to resolve diverse range of complex problems using judgment w/in defined policies
