About the role
- Independently leads all finance operations including reporting, accounting, accounts payable, payroll, and corporate insurance
- Manages all financial accounts and ensures compliance with GAAP standards
- Oversees funds accounting for restricted/unrestricted funds
- Establishes internal controls for revenue and budget expenditures
- Applies and ensures compliance with industry best practices and government regulations
- Prepares financial reports and communicates financial status to leadership
- Leads annual budgeting process and assists in planning and corrective actions
- Supervises finance staff and provides guidance for their development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience
- At least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and GAAP
- Experience leading operational teams across multiple functional areas
- Expert knowledge of USG Rules and Regulations, FAR, and 2CFR200
- 2-3 years of experience in negotiating NICRAs with USG
- Proficiency in Excel and financial software
- Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT and QuickBooks.
