About the role
- Translate documents from English into French for all administrative departments of the firm
- Accurately capture and convey the firm's intent and message so that French texts read as originals rather than translations, while respecting the firm's vision, tone and style
- Use the memoQ platform for translation assignments and stay current with new technological advances in translation
- Work closely with team members to create, update and enhance the internal terminology database and translation memory, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
Requirements
- University degree in translation and accreditation from OTTIAQ
- Minimum of five (5) years of translation experience, ideally gained in a legal or professional services environment
- Excellent command of French and English, written and spoken, with ease operating in an English-dominant work environment
- Strong team spirit and demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with colleagues, managers and internal partners in an environment of trust and mutual respect
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a nuanced understanding of the English language
- Meticulousness, agility, attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility, with a genuine commitment to linguistic quality and consistency in the firm's communications
- Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively, prioritize and be flexible in response to urgent requests
- Ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines while contributing positively to team dynamics and the firm's reputation
