About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive and execute Mitsubishi Chemical's Aerospace market growth strategy
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across commercial and military aircraft, helicopters, drones/UAS, satellites, space systems, and ordnance
- Map the Aerospace market and identify OEMs, Tier suppliers, key programs, and strategic influencers
- Develop targeted account plans aligned with business objectives and long-term growth strategies
- Serve as the technical and commercial leader for Aerospace applications
- Partner with Territory Managers and Regional Sales Managers to identify, develop, and win new business
- Participate in joint customer visits to strengthen relationships and uncover opportunities
- Recommend material solutions and application-specific technologies to customers
- Build partnerships with aerospace manufacturers, distributors, and channel partners
- Lead technical discussions involving engineering drawings, specifications, and material selection
- Support customers throughout the sales cycle from opportunity identification through implementation
- Build and manage a structured sales pipeline using CRM tools such as Salesforce
- Provide updates on customer engagement, sales opportunities, project status, travel plans, and business priorities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, and Commercial teams
- Identify and remove barriers affecting sales growth and customer success
- Develop technical presentations, application guides, and sales training materials
- Represent Mitsubishi Chemical at Advanced Materials University training sessions
- Mentor Territory Managers, Regional Sales Managers, and channel partners on Aerospace applications and market trends
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of experience selling into or supporting the Aerospace industry
- Experience supporting commercial or military aircraft, helicopters, drones/UAS, satellites, space systems, or defense applications
- Strong knowledge of high-performance plastics and engineered material solutions used in Aerospace applications
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Proven success developing new business opportunities and managing strategic customer relationships
- Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated ability to develop market strategies independently
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
- Established network of contacts within the Aerospace industry preferred
- Experience with high-performance thermoplastics, stock shapes, or engineered components preferred
- Knowledge of PEEK, PPS, PAI, PEI, PI, PBI, PET-P, nylons, and polyolefins preferred
- Experience supporting OEMs, distributors, or channel partners in technical sales environments preferred
- Experience mentoring commercial teams and delivering technical training preferred
- Approximately 50% travel
