About the role
- Lead the development and execution of automation projects from concept through startup and handoff to production
- Form and lead cross functional project teams across multiple manufacturing sites
- Define project scope, functional specifications, cost estimates, and timelines to support capital approvals
- Manage external integrators through concept development, design, build, and implementation
- Oversee factory acceptance testing to ensure systems meet design and performance requirements prior to installation
- Lead equipment installation activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and proper documentation
- Partner with plant teams to execute successful system startups including site acceptance testing and validation processes
- Ensure all projects align with safety standards, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement objectives
- Drive a strong safety culture by integrating safety into all aspects of project planning and execution
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or project management
- Strong project management skills including scheduling, cost tracking, and execution
- Experience leading cross functional project teams from kickoff through completion
- Knowledge of automation systems, robotics, and working with integrators preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD, including layout and 3D modeling
- Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present to stakeholders at all levels
- Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to apply them in engineering design
- Six Sigma certification preferred.
