About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide payer relations support to MB2 Dental offices using a customized, consultative approach
- Optimize dental plan revenue and serve as liaison between MB2 offices and payers
- Provide payer relations expertise to offices, Credentialing, and the Central Business Office (RCO)
- Conduct annual payer portfolio reviews to optimize network participation
- Conduct annual UCR fee reviews using industry fee data
- Serve as an internal payer relations subject matter expert and information resource
- Negotiate contracts and compensation with assigned regional payers
- Pursue member assignments and prospect/present new payer networks to the Operations team
- Research and resolve payer-related issues for offices and internal departments
- Communicate value and support implementation of EDI, EFT, ERA, and web portal efficiencies
- Coordinate and conduct office training on payer relations topics, including leased/rental networks and PPO, DHMO, and EPO participation
- Coordinate patient grievance resolution as needed
- Coordinate resolution of large payer claims disputes upon request
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- AA degree desired
- 10+ years of dental office experience highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of dental coding required
- Dental billing experience required
- Working knowledge of PPO, DHMO, EPO, Medicare, and Medicaid models
- Fluency in English: able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Ability to analyze information and create action plans
- Ability to think strategically and communicate recommendations to senior management and doctors
- Ability to project revenue streams and draw conclusions with recommendations
- Ability to develop productive business relationships inside and outside MB2 Dental
- Ability to interact effectively with senior management cross-functionally
- Strong customer service attitude and consultative skills
- Self-motivated and able to work remotely with minimal supervision
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and execute workload timely
- Detail-oriented with strong accuracy and follow-up skills
- Strong PC skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including creating, manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting spreadsheets
- Working knowledge of dental practice management systems such as Dentrix is a plus
