Assisting in the design of mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems.
Performing calculations such as load analysis, voltage drop and short-circuit studies (for electrical) and heating and cooling loads, ventilation requirements, and distribution system sizing (for mechanical or plumbing).
Preparing construction documents, including detailed drawings, diagrams, and technical specifications, using tools like CAD and Revit.
Supporting sustainability efforts by integrating energy-efficient and renewable energy solutions into designs and assisting with LEED documentation.
Coordinating designs with the Mazzetti team and external disciplines like architects and structural engineers.
Participating in project planning meetings to understand client requirements and align project objectives.
Assisting with the construction administration process, including reviewing submittals and conducting site visits to observe system installations.
Evaluating existing electrical systems on renovation projects and recommending solutions to integrate new systems effectively.
Staying current with industry trends, technology advancements, and applicable codes and standards to deliver innovative and compliant designs.
Engaging with mentors and peers to develop technical and professional skills while contributing to impactful projects.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering with a focus on HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems.
0–3 years of experience in electrical, mechanical HVAC and/or plumbing building systems design (internship experience is acceptable).
Previous exposure to healthcare/hospital design is a plus.
Familiarity with engineering software, including CAD, Revit, and power analysis tools such as SKM PowerTools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform technical calculations accurately.
In pursuit of or eligible to obtain Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification within 2–3 years preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
