About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and implement functional safety concepts derived from safety goals and safety cases according to UL4600 and ISO 26262
  • Own the development of the safety case for the Driver Out system
  • Own and manage the safety plan and schedule it to support product launches
  • Plan and coordinate safety activities with product managers, development teams, suppliers, and customers
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure on-time delivery of mature safety work products
  • Create, maintain, and review safety work products including HARA, FSC, TSC, FTA, FMEA, SPFM/LFM, PMHF, and DFA
  • Identify and define technical, system, and safety requirements tied to safety goals
  • Explain functional safety concepts to non-safety engineers
  • Plan and complete functional safety confirmation measures, including audits and assessments
  • Communicate with stakeholders across the organization to achieve product safety goals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Engineering, Computer Science, or highly technical degree preferred
  • 7+ years of related work experience
  • Strong working knowledge of HARA, FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, and DFA
  • Experience with requirements capture and safety metrics definition
  • Understanding of software and hardware development life cycles, integration processes, and test/validation complexity
  • Ability to clarify and document fuzzy requirements and challenges
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts, root cause analyses, technical challenges, solutions, and data-backed results
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people and teams
  • High level of initiative and activation, including taking on peripheral challenges when needed for project success
  • Standard office working conditions, including prolonged sitting, standing, and computer use
  • Minimal travel required: 1%-10%
