About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure the organisation complies with applicable laws, regulations, and licence conditions by interpreting regulatory requirements, mapping obligations to internal processes, maintaining regulatory registers and advising the business on compliance requirements
  • Undertake compliance activities required to maintain and further progress the compliance program
  • Conduct Compliance monitoring reviews, perform control testing and review business processes for regulatory adherence
  • Assess potential regulatory breaches, coordinate breach investigations, determine reportability to regulators, maintain breach register and oversee remediation actions
  • Monitor regulatory developments and guidance and work with relevant stakeholders to consider impact and any changes that should be made
  • Provide reports on compliance incidents, monitoring activities, and regulatory developments
  • Contribute to the development of compliance training programs, regulatory awareness sessions, providing guidance to business units and supporting a culture of ethical conduct and accountability
  • Support the identification and management of compliance risks, in partnership with risk management, internal audit and legal teams
  • Develop, review and update policies, procedures and controls to mitigate compliance and regulatory risk

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ years’ experience in compliance roles in a commercial environment with a focus on financial services
  • Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business or a related discipline, with relevant postgraduate qualifications or professional certifications, is highly desirable
  • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks applicable to the Group, including but not limited to AML/CTF Act, Privacy Act 1988, Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), NDIS Act 2013
  • Proven track record managing compliance programs within financial services and NDIS sectors
  • Demonstrated experience in uplifting compliance strategy, framework and/or program
