About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure the organisation complies with applicable laws, regulations, and licence conditions by interpreting regulatory requirements, mapping obligations to internal processes, maintaining regulatory registers and advising the business on compliance requirements
Undertake compliance activities required to maintain and further progress the compliance program
Conduct Compliance monitoring reviews, perform control testing and review business processes for regulatory adherence
Assess potential regulatory breaches, coordinate breach investigations, determine reportability to regulators, maintain breach register and oversee remediation actions
Monitor regulatory developments and guidance and work with relevant stakeholders to consider impact and any changes that should be made
Provide reports on compliance incidents, monitoring activities, and regulatory developments
Contribute to the development of compliance training programs, regulatory awareness sessions, providing guidance to business units and supporting a culture of ethical conduct and accountability
Support the identification and management of compliance risks, in partnership with risk management, internal audit and legal teams
Develop, review and update policies, procedures and controls to mitigate compliance and regulatory risk

Requirements

What you’ll need

4+ years’ experience in compliance roles in a commercial environment with a focus on financial services
Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business or a related discipline, with relevant postgraduate qualifications or professional certifications, is highly desirable
Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks applicable to the Group, including but not limited to AML/CTF Act, Privacy Act 1988, Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), NDIS Act 2013
Proven track record managing compliance programs within financial services and NDIS sectors
Demonstrated experience in uplifting compliance strategy, framework and/or program
