About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Extract clinical, pharmacy, scheduling, referral, and provider data from Epic into VytlOne's VytlAIQ 340B optimization and analytics platform
  • Work with client Epic teams and senior analysts to extract assigned data feeds following the VytlAIQ data input matrix
  • Travel to client health system sites for on-site data acquisition work, discovery sessions, and testing
  • Build, configure, and validate Epic reports and extracts using Clarity, Caboodle, Reporting Workbench, and SlicerDicer
  • Support HL7 v2, FHIR R4, and SMART on FHIR interface work
  • Document report and interface specifications, field mappings, and extraction steps
  • Configure and test PGP-encrypted SFTP file-based feeds
  • Perform validation, reconciliation, and quality checks; resolve data discrepancies
  • Track changes to specifications and maintain accurate client feed records
  • Gather requirements and translate stakeholder needs into extraction specifications
  • Follow HIPAA, BAA, minimum-necessary, and 340B requirements
  • Provide end-user support and coordinate technical problem resolution
  • Provide status updates and escalate blockers to senior team members
  • Identify process gaps and improvement opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a similar discipline from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
  • 3–4 years of directly related experience working with Epic in a health system, health IT, or vendor capacity
  • Experience in a client-facing role working on-site with customer IT, Epic/informatics, and operations staff
  • Experience building and validating Epic reports and extracts using Clarity, Caboodle, Reporting Workbench, and/or SlicerDicer
  • Working experience with HL7 v2 (ADT, SIU, REF), FHIR R4, and/or SMART on FHIR
  • Experience with file-based data feeds and SFTP
  • Experience working with client or end-user technical contacts to gather requirements
  • Healthcare data experience with understanding of PHI handling under HIPAA
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and validation
  • Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall development methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop and read data flow, interface, and application diagrams
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking skills to understand clinical and pharmacy data and workflows
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to determine acceptable solutions
  • Client-facing skills and ability to work professionally with customer staff on-site
  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Experience in data validation, user testing, and project participation
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
