About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF) program
  • Provide operational, financial, administrative, and stakeholder-management support for integrated human performance services
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects and scopes
  • Facilitate and prepare planning activities and artifacts
  • Oversee large multi-project programs, including planning, staffing, leadership, and control
  • Create and execute project work plans and revise them as needed
  • Identify resources and assign responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain master and individual resource plans and project documentation
  • Baseline projects and capture actual metrics for historical metrics and Level of Effort forecasting
  • Review team deliverables before submission to management and customers
  • Apply PMI methodology and enforce project standards
  • Prepare engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures
  • Minimize project risk exposure
  • Communicate project information to management, stakeholders, and customers
  • Resolve or escalate project issues
  • Maintain complete, current, and properly stored project documents
  • Track and apply lessons learned
  • Close out projects properly
  • Supervise staff and provide direction, input, and performance feedback
  • Prioritize workloads and resolve issues as an escalation point
  • Liaise with vendors, including performance and SLA monitoring
  • Support system and business process changes
  • Participate in drafting vendor contracts, addendums, SOWs, RFPs/RFIs, change requests, and requirements
  • Lead continuous improvement teams
  • Oversee POTFF program or assigned-site business operations
  • Partner with Finance on budgets, forecasts, expenditures, staffing, training investments, and facility needs
  • Coordinate activities across physical, psychological, cognitive, social and family, and spiritual performance domains
  • Supervise administrative and clerical personnel, establish schedules, support onboarding, and coordinate training
  • Monitor contract, regulatory, safety, security, and company-policy compliance
  • Coordinate vendor activities and procurement
  • Build relationships with government customers, program leadership, functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Develop operational metrics, reports, and performance indicators
  • Identify operational risks, recommend corrective actions, and support continuous improvement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree
  • 7-10 years of relevant professional experience required
  • Minimum of five years of experience in program management, contract administration, business operations, or a related function within a defense, government, or other complex regulated environment
  • Experience with budgeting, financial oversight, resource planning, procurement, and cost control
  • Experience supervising staff and coordinating work across cross-functional teams
  • Working knowledge of federal contracting and applicable compliance requirements
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business reporting tools
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance or eligibility to obtain and maintain one
  • Advanced degree in business administration, public administration, public health, or a related field preferred
  • Experience supporting Special Operations Forces, military readiness, human performance, behavioral health, or physical readiness programs preferred
  • Knowledge of USSOCOM and POTFF mission priorities preferred
  • Experience applying FAR or DFARS preferred
  • Experience developing performance metrics and executive-level operational reports preferred
  • Project Management Professional or other relevant certification preferred
  • Active Department of Defense Secret or higher-level clearance preferred
