About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise a team of employees and cultivate a high-performance team
  • Ensure adequate staff coverage for the assigned program area
  • Serve as the Component-level subject matter expert and advisor on suicide prevention policy, programming, and practices
  • Review applied research and incorporate best practices into suicide prevention policies, programming, and initiatives
  • Support development of Component-level suicide prevention policies and procedures consistent with SOCOM directives
  • Monitor compliance with suicide prevention requirements and coordinate programs with HQ USSOCOM POTFF and the respective military services
  • Integrate suicide prevention practices into component and unit training, family programs, spiritual programs, and other activities
  • Support development of a Component-level human factors council for interventions involving at-risk individuals
  • Ensure best practices and reporting requirements are implemented accurately and on time
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams, review boards, stakeholder meetings, and required professional meetings
  • Support assigned suicide prevention taskers and projects
  • Provide clinical social work services when assigned, including assessment, evidence-based therapy, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Provide individual, family, group, and couples therapy; support substance-use treatment evaluations and case management
  • Assess treatment adherence, use validated symptom inventories, identify barriers, and help clients develop solutions
  • Educate clients about mental health conditions and treatment regimens
  • Maintain client registry information and accurate electronic medical record notes
  • Staff difficult cases with behavioral health and psychiatry consultants
  • Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders, and school districts
  • Participate in military-specific training and activities
  • Provide clinical supervision of unlicensed providers or trainees, as applicable
  • Ensure assigned teams meet contract, SLA, and related requirements
  • Identify program improvements and efficiencies with contract management and shared services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of two years of related experience
  • Current LCSW or LMSW license valid in the state of practice is required
  • Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) or equivalent degree from a graduate school fully accredited by CSWE
  • Active state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Minimum of two years of peer-reviewable clinical social work experience in a mental health setting
  • Working knowledge of professional standards and ethics related to clinical social work services
  • Experience providing brief behavioral interventions
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance or eligibility to obtain and maintain one
  • Must currently and permanently reside in the Continental US
  • Internet speed of at least 25 Mbps, or 50 Mbps for shared connectivity
  • Minimum 5 Mbps upload speed
  • Category 5 or 6 ethernet connection to the home router
  • Private and secure work area and adequate power source
  • Smartphone required for Maximus systems
