About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work across AI, Enterprise Architecture, and Business Development teams
  • Assist with implementations and improve cybersecurity controls protecting federal information systems and data
  • Support security operations, compliance activities, vulnerability management, cloud security initiatives, and system authorization efforts
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and guide engineers in selecting, integrating, and optimizing Information Security solutions
  • Lead or contribute to Information Security projects and operational duties, providing technical leadership and mentorship
  • Implement, configure, and maintain Information Security solutions
  • Coordinate enterprise project-level planning, support, level of effort, and resource alignment
  • Prioritize and direct program execution based on risk, business objectives, and organizational impact
  • Advise on security controls across cloud, network, and endpoint application environments
  • Perform security assessments, vulnerability analysis, and remediation tracking
  • Advise on SIEM, EDR, firewalls, and vulnerability scanning technologies
  • Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, and CI/CD Pipeline Engineers to address security risks
  • Develop and maintain security documentation, policies, procedures, and system security plans
  • Recommend improvements to security posture, compliance, and operational efficiency
  • Support Zero Trust, secure configuration management, and cloud security best practices
  • Review proposals and bids for technical compliance
  • Act as a technical ISO stakeholder in Enterprise Risk and Assurance activities
  • Communicate initiatives, solution designs, and security or compliance considerations to ISO leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and 7+ years
  • 5+ years of Security Engineering experience
  • Experience working with the US Federal government as a current/previous federal employee or federal contractor in a security engineering capacity
  • Knowledge of NIST 800-53 Security and Privacy Controls for Information Systems and Organizations
  • Knowledge of NIST 800-171 Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information in Nonfederal Systems and Organizations
  • Strong background securing CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of networking connectivity and network security controls
  • Understanding of endpoint security for servers and workstations
  • Understanding of applied Zero Trust
  • Experience with vulnerability management and remediation processes
  • Experience with cloud security in AWS and/or Azure environments
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Up to 10% travel is required
  • CISSP, CISA, CCSP, CISM, GIAC, AWS Security, or Azure Security certifications preferred
