Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review cases, summarize case facts, and assess issues to certify or non-certify requested treatments
  • Provide written clinical rationales for California Workers' Compensation cases
  • Review, organize, and identify medical records for California workers' compensation cases
  • Monitor review timeliness and applicable standards
  • Meet production and quality standards
  • Conduct comprehensive cognitive performance evaluations using standardized assessment tools and validated neurocognitive testing platforms
  • Perform occupational analysis to identify mission-task performance barriers and task-person-environment mismatches
  • Identify cognitive readiness risk factors, including sleep disruption, operational fatigue, stress load, and mild traumatic brain injury history
  • Translate cognitive assessment findings into mission-relevant performance applications
  • Develop individualized cognitive performance plans targeting executive functioning, attention control, stress regulation, mental agility, and recovery
  • Deliver group-based cognitive training and performance workshops
  • Implement cognitive rehabilitation protocols for operators returning from injury, illness, or cognitive performance degradation
  • Provide in-training environment coaching during operational tasks
  • Design and execute cognitive skills development programs aligned with Special Operations Forces mission demands
  • Provide services in garrison and operational training settings as required
  • Educate Service Members on cognitive resilience, fatigue mitigation, workload management, and recovery practices
  • Develop proactive programming to prevent cognitive decline and performance loss
  • Collaborate with the Human Performance team and Cognitive Performance Professionals
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences, performance reviews, and care coordination meetings
  • Advise leadership on aggregate cognitive readiness trends, risk factors, and mitigation strategies while complying with privacy, confidentiality, and applicable DoD regulations
  • Perform assigned special projects, including legal or general medical research

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years of experience consulting within the designated function
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cognitive rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation, human performance, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist
  • Current, unrestricted Occupational Therapist license in at least one U.S. state or territory
  • Current NBCOT certification
  • Active Secret clearance required at minimum
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance within six months of hire
  • Experience with tactical, military, elite athletic, or high-performance populations
  • Experience with neurocognitive testing platforms and performance data interpretation
  • Demonstrated expertise in cognitive assessment and intervention
  • Understanding of operational stress, sleep science, fatigue management, and performance psychology principles
  • Ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for briefing senior leadership
  • Ability to operate independently in dynamic, high-tempo environments
  • Reliable high-speed internet service
  • Minimum 20 Mbps download speed, or 50 Mbps for shared internet connectivity
