About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide outcome-based nurse practitioner services, including screening, medical care, routine, acute, and chronic-condition examinations, immunizations, diagnosis, treatment, and counseling
  • Diagnose and treat acute conditions, chronic illnesses, and minor trauma within protocols, clinical guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or physician consultation
  • Promote preventive care and health maintenance through annual physicals, health-behavior support, self-care education, and counseling
  • Communicate mental health concepts effectively to elite operators who may be skeptical of traditional psychological support
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams, clients, families, command stakeholders, local leadership, and organizational health initiatives
  • Provide command consultation on de-identified morale and behavioral-health trends to inform operational tempo decisions
  • Provide technical direction and evidence-based instruction to staff, including lectures and in-service training
  • Recognize conditions requiring isolation and ensure universal precautions during client encounters
  • Attend staff meetings for case discussion, continuing education, quality improvement, and safety initiatives
  • Review cases or sites, summarize facts, and assess identified issues
  • Perform assigned determinations, resolve technical issues, conduct research, support special projects, and perform other management-assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years of experience OR Associate's degree with 5–7 years of experience
  • Master's degree in nursing from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program
  • Minimum 5 years of post-graduate independent clinical psychiatric nursing experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Department of War or Department of Veterans Affairs setting
  • Current, full, active, unrestricted U.S. professional nursing license
  • Board certification as a PMHNP through ANCC, AANP, or another recognized national nursing certification organization
  • Understanding of military culture and operational stressors within the SOF operator community
  • Proficiency treating post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, and chronic pain
  • Active Secret clearance at minimum
  • Reliable high-speed internet service
  • Minimum 20 Mbps download / 50 Mbps shared-connectivity download speeds
  • Minimum 5 Mbps upload speed
