About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide outcome-based nurse practitioner services, including screening, medical care, routine, acute, and chronic-condition examinations, immunizations, diagnosis, treatment, and counseling
- Diagnose and treat acute conditions, chronic illnesses, and minor trauma within protocols, clinical guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or physician consultation
- Promote preventive care and health maintenance through annual physicals, health-behavior support, self-care education, and counseling
- Communicate mental health concepts effectively to elite operators who may be skeptical of traditional psychological support
- Collaborate with healthcare teams, clients, families, command stakeholders, local leadership, and organizational health initiatives
- Provide command consultation on de-identified morale and behavioral-health trends to inform operational tempo decisions
- Provide technical direction and evidence-based instruction to staff, including lectures and in-service training
- Recognize conditions requiring isolation and ensure universal precautions during client encounters
- Attend staff meetings for case discussion, continuing education, quality improvement, and safety initiatives
- Review cases or sites, summarize facts, and assess identified issues
- Perform assigned determinations, resolve technical issues, conduct research, support special projects, and perform other management-assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years of experience OR Associate's degree with 5–7 years of experience
- Master's degree in nursing from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program
- Minimum 5 years of post-graduate independent clinical psychiatric nursing experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Department of War or Department of Veterans Affairs setting
- Current, full, active, unrestricted U.S. professional nursing license
- Board certification as a PMHNP through ANCC, AANP, or another recognized national nursing certification organization
- Understanding of military culture and operational stressors within the SOF operator community
- Proficiency treating post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, and chronic pain
- Active Secret clearance at minimum
- Reliable high-speed internet service
- Minimum 20 Mbps download / 50 Mbps shared-connectivity download speeds
- Minimum 5 Mbps upload speed
