About the role
- Own Windows Server/AD services (GPO, DNS/DHCP, OU design, patching, monitoring) across production enclaves.
- Automate at scale with PowerShell; document runbooks and change procedures; participate in change windows/on-call.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues end-to-end (networking/TLS/certs/identity).
- Contribute to Exchange 2016/2019 operations (DAG health checks, CU planning, hybrid touch-points) in partnership with a messaging SME.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field — or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of Windows Server or Windows Systems administration
- 4 years of administering Active Directory in enterprise production environments.
- Strong grasp of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing) and certificate/TLS management.
- Proven PowerShell for administration/automation; excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work 100% onsite in Washington, DC; U.S. citizen.
- Preferred: Top Secret with SCI (active or crossover-eligible).
- Preferred: Microsoft Exchange 2016/2019 exposure (performance monitoring, CU/patch participation, upgrade planning, advanced troubleshooting).
- Preferred: Hybrid/M365 touchpoints: HCW, OAuth/Modern Auth, MRS/MRSProxy, and EOP/Defender hygiene.
- Preferred: Experience with load balancers (F5/NetScaler), PKI/certificate lifecycle, and enterprise monitoring (SCOM/M365 health sets).
- Preferred: Azure background; Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104/AZ-305) preferred.
- Preferred: Prior work in federal or classified environments (STIG/RMF/NIST).
