Systems Engineer

• ****Position Overview****** Maverc Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Database & Cloud Systems Engineer to support our client through a 12-month contract engagement with strong potential for full-time hire.**** This role sits at the intersection of data infrastructure, Microsoft Azure (GCC High), cloud compliance, and financial operations, supporting a business environment led by a finance organization with deep public company and audit experience.**** The selected candidate will work closely with leadership, including the VP of Finance, and must clearly articulate how their technical work supports:** • Financial accuracy and reporting integrity** • Operational efficiency** • Risk reduction and compliance**** This is a high-visibility, client-facing role where success depends equally on technical expertise and executive communication.******Key Responsibilities****** Database Management & Optimization** • Administer, maintain, and optimize Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environments** • Design and implement database structures, indexing strategies, and performance tuning** • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions** • Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes**** Cloud & Azure (GCC High)** • Support and manage systems within a Microsoft Azure GCC High environment** • Deploy, configure, and maintain Azure-based infrastructure supporting database workloads** • Ensure alignment with FedRAMP, NIST, and CMMC-aligned requirements** • Implement and maintain secure cloud architectures, including encryption, network security, and access controls** • Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams on Azure governance, policies, and compliance controls**** Systems Integration & Financial Data Support** • Integrate databases with financial systems, reporting platforms, and ERP environments** • Support data accuracy, reporting workflows, and audit-readiness** • Assist in maintaining systems that support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting

Database & Cloud Systems Engineer

System Administrator

• Administer and maintain physical and virtual servers (Windows/Linux), including system updates, patching, and performance tuning.
• Deploy, configure, and manage network infrastructure such as firewalls, switches, routers, and VPN solutions to support a secure enterprise environment.
• Implement and maintain security controls and policies in line with CMMC Level 2 or higher.
• Perform regular system and network vulnerability scans, remediation, and documentation.
• Manage directory services (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP) and multi-factor authentication solutions.
• Assist with incident response, forensic analysis, and recovery procedures as needed.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support and assist with cybersecurity audits and assessments.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
