About the role
- Formulates and maintains quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
- Interprets quality philosophy to key personnel in organization.
- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation.
- Plans and oversees the analysis, inspection, design, text, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
- Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
- Reviews all data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
- Develops approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.
- Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve them.
- Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.
- Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
- Plays an active role on quality management teams within organization.
- Directs employees engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, products, processes and/or services.
- Designs and implements quality training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
- Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.
- Implements and maintains government required training programs.
- Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished.
- Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
- 8+ years progressive experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect)
- High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
- Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
