About the role
- Develop and execute comprehensive government relations strategies to advance priorities across the United States
- Build, maintain, and deepen relationships with federal and state policymakers, regulators, and key staff
- Directly advocate on priority issues, representing the company in meetings and policy forums
- Manage external lobbying firms, consultants, and associated budgets
- Monitor, analyze, and shape legislative and regulatory developments relevant to the business
- Partner closely with global Government Relations leads, Legal, Trust & Safety, Product, and Corporate Communications
- Develop and refine clear, actionable policy positions and advocacy materials
- Support senior executive advocacy efforts and third-party memberships in Washington, DC
- Represent the company in industry associations, coalitions, and public forums
Requirements
- Degree in law, public policy, political science, or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or public policy
- Strong understanding of U.S. legislative and regulatory processes at both federal and state levels
- Experience working on issues such as online safety, privacy, competition, or emerging technologies
- Established network within Congress, federal agencies, state governments, and relevant industry groups
- Excellent communicator with ability to articulate complex policy issues clearly and persuasively
- Conversational Spanish is a plus
- Naturally curious, interested in making the world a less lonely place
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional and global environment
- Willing to travel at least 40% of the time
