About the role

  • Perform document analysis in accordance with current legislation and established procedures
  • Analyze administrative treatment/handling of NCM (Mercosur Common Nomenclature)
  • Assess the need for NVE
  • Analyze application of antidumping measures
  • Verify and qualify product descriptions and inform the client when revisions are required
  • Ensure consistency between the classified NCM and the product description
  • Check and approve LI (Import License)
  • Check and approve LPCO
  • Monitor the status of LI
  • Monitor the status of LPCO
  • Analyze and satisfy fiscal requirements under supervision
  • Verify and send funds/payment information to the client
  • Monitor cargo arrival dates
  • Check Siscomex for any pending issues that could prevent release/delivery of the shipment for transport
  • Inspect for any damages
  • Monitor issuance of protest letters
  • Verify whether MAPA (Ministry of Agriculture) release is required
  • Perform a second review of Import Declarations
  • Request a third review of Import Declarations from management
  • Prepare the dossier
  • Save the dossier to the directory
  • Analyze fiscal requirements
  • Prepare DI (Import Declaration) rectifications prior to customs clearance
  • Request review and analysis of DI rectifications before filing the amendment
  • Send a summary of the rectification to local representatives and to the client
  • Check if demurrage has been incurred
  • Verify the need for wash and/or repair statements
  • Keep operational systems properly updated
  • Coordinate, monitor and ensure all internal SLAs and client-established SLAs are met
  • Maintain ongoing follow-up with the client
  • Provide customer service
  • Provide support to and assist assistants and/or junior staff to ensure smooth process flow and support their development

Requirements

  • Limited professional experience
  • Incomplete higher education
  • Basic knowledge of Customs legislation
  • Minimum experience in the area: 2 to 3 years
