About the role

  • Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Cloud Administrator is responsible for providing Tier 2 support, management and maintenance of the cloud computing infrastructure. Working in close collaboration with the Cloud and Infrastructure Architect, the Cloud Administrator will play a key role in implementing cloud services throughout the organization. The Cloud Administrator will also work closely with the DevOps, Quality Control and Business Systems teams to relay their needs to the IT department.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Management of cloud-based systems within the Microsoft Azure environment. Perform the backup and recovery of critical cloud systems. Understand existing workloads to support and/or migrate to Azure.
  • Infrastructure As Code & Automation: Build infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or ARM templates.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Work with internal teams to investigate and resolve complex issues. Troubleshoot problems by analyzing root causes and keeping stakeholders informed of progress towards resolution.
  • Change & Configuration Management: Document required changes according to the established Change Management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to cloud environment.
  • Security & Compliance: Assist IT Security implementing best practices related to Azure Cloud. Maintain Azure Policies to ensure compliance within environment. Manage Role Based Access Controls allowing privileged users access to critical systems.

Requirements

  • 4-5 years of experience in cloud administration, cloud engineering, or a similar technical role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Azure Cloud Services.
  • Strong experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and system administration concepts.
  • Proven hands-on experience with a wide range of Information Technology systems.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud best practices.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to design and implement large-scale cloud projects effectively.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently to proactively complete tasks and projects.
  • Comfortable collaborating remotely with distributed team members.
  • Excellent team player with the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong time management skills and experience working in team environments that support and rely on collaboration.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Azure Administrator Associate Certification or equivalent highly preferred.
