About the role
- The Assistant Attorney General (AAG) in the Consumer Protection Division will be responsible for identifying problematic business practices that negatively impact consumers,
- Evaluating their suitability for enforcement,
- Investigating and litigating civil actions on behalf of the Commonwealth, where appropriate.
- Developing and implementing concrete strategies for remedying industrywide consumer abuses.
- Participating in legislative and regulatory policy development at both the state and federal levels.
- Joining civil litigation teams challenging federal actions that harm the Commonwealth and its residents.
Requirements
- Must be a member of the Massachusetts Bar.
- At least three (3) years of prior complex litigation or equivalent legal experience preferred.
- Ability to integrate new and complicated subject areas.
- Excellent formal and informal writing, legal analysis, negotiation, oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to analyze and explain complex data.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to practicing law in the public interest.
- Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, or other languages preferred.
