About the role

  • The Assistant Attorney General (AAG) in the Consumer Protection Division will be responsible for identifying problematic business practices that negatively impact consumers,
  • Evaluating their suitability for enforcement,
  • Investigating and litigating civil actions on behalf of the Commonwealth, where appropriate.
  • Developing and implementing concrete strategies for remedying industrywide consumer abuses.
  • Participating in legislative and regulatory policy development at both the state and federal levels.
  • Joining civil litigation teams challenging federal actions that harm the Commonwealth and its residents.

Requirements

  • Must be a member of the Massachusetts Bar.
  • At least three (3) years of prior complex litigation or equivalent legal experience preferred.
  • Ability to integrate new and complicated subject areas.
  • Excellent formal and informal writing, legal analysis, negotiation, oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to analyze and explain complex data.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to practicing law in the public interest.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, or other languages preferred.
